After 20 months of restrictions, the US reopens borders

The United States opened its land and air borders to travelers vaccinated against Covid-19 on Monday (11/8). The severe restrictions on people entering the country lasted 20 months.

Separated families, interrupted business relations, thwarted career ambitions: the “travel ban” imposed in early 2020 by then-President Donald Trump, and later confirmed by his successor, Joe Biden, exacerbated the turmoil caused by the pandemic.

To travel to the United States, it will be necessary to present proof of vaccination and a negative Covid-19 test taken up to 72 hours before departure.

It's important that from today, with the opening of American borders to vaccinated individuals, we stay alert to the constant changes that will also be happening in American Consulates in Brazil and other countries. The Consulates are also making moves, and clients who had scheduled their interview, for example, in Rio de Janeiro for October 2022, managed to reschedule for March 2022.

During these times of significant changes, it's crucial to keep in touch with your trusted Immigration attorney, who must be properly licensed in the US, so that you successfully obtain the much-desired American visa!
